The entire Mynt Hair Studio team gels together well, not only with clients, but among themselves. They’re like family. The entire Studio team—from front staff to stylists, will make you feel at home at Oakville’s most recommended hair salon.

John Riccardi

John Riccardi

Director & Senior Stylist

The two are inseparable—John Riccardi and Dan Riccardi—brothers, best friends and co-founders of Mynt, Oakville's hottest, most fashion-forward hair studio.

Following in the footsteps of their father John Riccardi, a popular Burlington hair stylist and salon owner for more than 40 years, the two Riccardi brothers have carved out their own sense of hairdressing style and artistry for the past 17 years.

John and Dan began their hairdressing journey training with Anthony Avola, founder of Toronto's renowned Avola College and Bayview Village's Capelli Salon. John and Dan later finessed their hairdressing skills, expertise and charm at Vidal Sassoon, Aveda Academy, Tony & Guy, Martin Parsons and with Nick Arrojo at the Arrojo Academy in New York City, and a hair show with the Ciuti & Ciuti brothers (from Rome) in New York City.

In September 2014, John and Dan completed an Editorial Styling Course in New York City at the Arrojo Hair Expo, with Nick Arrojo.

In April 2015, John and Dan completed an Art Direction For Fashion Course in London, England at the University of the Arts London Central Saint Martins with Leigh Keily. They also did a Creative Concept class with Rush at the L'Oreal International Academy in London, England.

When John is not at the salon, you can find him kicking around the soccer ball with his two beautiful daughters.

Today John and Dan welcome friends and clients to Mynt Hair studio, and to their vision of a hair salon that delivers a friendly, positive, "oh wow".

David Riccardi

David Riccardi

Salon Stylist

As the younger brother to Mynt Studio owners John and Dan Riccardi, David Riccardi must have hair styling in his DNA. Dave trained for two years at the acclaimed Aveda Academy in Toronto, where he both learned the trade and later taught new students.

While David specializes in full colouring and highlights, he also loves the challenge of making a fashion statement from an asymmetrical cut. Where does David draw his inspiration? "I absorb from my co-workers and from hair shows, which only motivates me to learn more and expand my knowledge. I love the atmosphere here and I know our clients recognize it as well."

David recommends Moroccan Oil, "especially for women with hair that is big and frizzy—it's a product you use when your hair is wet or dry, and really defuses the frizz factor."

While you'll often find David enjoying the downtown urban life, you'll also find him enjoying the great outdoors, on his ATV.

Jay Fodchuk

Jay Fodchuk

Salon Stylist

After graduating from McMaster with a degree in English, Jay switched gears and threw himself into the hairstyle field with two years of training at Toronto's Aveda Institute where he specialized in cut and colour.

After graduating, Jay finessed his hairstyling and colouring skills at the Queen Street Aveda salon where his clients demanded cutting edge styles with lots of street edgy color and streaks. Jay lives by the mantra that "when it comes to hair, keep the cut simple, natural and easy to maintain. No one wants to spend twenty minutes every day untangling and styling their hair."

Jay finds his inspiration everywhere-from the downtown streets to the latest magazines and fashion shows. Jay is a big fan of Moroccan Oil, which smells great and gives a natural shine.

In September 2014, Jay completed an Editorial Styling Course in New York City at the Arrojo Hair Expo, with Nick Arrojo.

Outside the salon, Jay can be found in downtown TO, checking out the scene or on the weekends, up north, or checking out the fishing lakes.

Sabrina Imbrogno

Now Sabrina has graduated from a Junior Stylist to a Salon Stylist and is building quite the reputation for her amazing upstyles and unique hair colouring techniques, such as "Ombre" and "Balayage".
